A semi-weekly paper that was published from 1803 to 1816. This issue includes an account of the Battle of Chippawa on Pages 1 and 2 as told by U.S. Captain McDonald.en_US
dc.description.abstract14 September 1815. Contains an account of a battle under the headline “Battle of Chippawa”, given by Captain McDonald on March 14, 1815, before the Military Court of Inquiry at Troy. The dates given in the account are not consistent with the Battle of Chippawa, and likely refer to the Battle of Lundy’s Lane (Bridgewater) instead. It is stated that “this court of enquiry was granted at the request of Gen. Ripley, who was stung into dissatisfaction by a despatch from Gen. Brown, relative to the sequel of the action at Bridgewater”.
