A letter from Ethelwyn Wetherald to Mr.(Frank) & Mrs.(Elsie) Page, 29 December 1931. The letter reads: "My Dear Friends Frank and Elsie Page, - Your generous kindness has quite overwhelmed me, and I can hardly tell you how much I appreciate this beautiful picture and the very kind thought which prompted its sending. I have always admired Paul Peel's work. In 1890 he gave me Exhibition of his paintings in the parlor of the old Tecumseh House in London & I was [illegible] by the London Advertiser to write a description of them for that journal. I did so with so much enthusiasm that the artist called on me to express his thanks and we became very good friends. This picture will always be one of my choicest treasures and whenever I look at it I shall always be reminded that there is a family in New Dundee who is dearer to me than ever because it so abundantly shares my love of beautiful things. I must tell you that my brother Herbert is much improved in health. He is able to walk outdoors without a cane & is looking forward to helping with the work next Spring. My grateful regards to you all and sincerest wishes that great happiness may await you in 1932. Ever your friend Ethelwyn Wetherald"en_US
