dc.description	Lock 15 of the 2nd Welland Canal is the last North/South oriented lock below the Niagara Escarpment. After Lock 15, the canal makes a 45 degree turn to the east to climb the escarpment laterally. The filled in Lock 15 now serves as a rest area for hikers along the Merritt Trail.
