Boundaries, roads and transportation routes are shown. Towns and cities are labelled as are waterways, lakes and ports. An inset map titled: “Niagara River and Vicinity” shows a magnified section of Niagara, Lincoln, Welland and New York.

Fine print at the bottom of the map reads: “Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1867 by A.J. Johnson, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York."
