Key to columns in StarNosedMoleThermalImagingData.csv Each row represents a still image frame extracted from a time lapse thermal video file (sampled 1 frame/s). Multiple images may exist for a given condition since various body parts were not always visible in frame. Condition: Refers to the state as defined in the experimental protocol, one of 9 different conditions Condition Group: A numeric version of Condition, easier for categorising in R Temperature Challenge: Either Cool or Warm - since we ran time based trials where moles were exposed to room temperature, followed by either a Cool or Warm water foraging exposure. Filename: The TIF file converted from FLIR Research Studio, using appropriate parameter settings. FrameNum: The frame number from the video file from which the TIF image was derived. This aids in data retrieval from the original .ats thermal video file AnimalID: Describes the unique identifier for each animal. The rest of the file consists of 7 sets of information extracted from regions of interest (ROIs) drawn on the ground near the mole (ground), the nose (proximal region that is slightly insulated), the nose ray (uninsulated, fleshy appendage), the eye, the front limb (not always visible in image frame), the tail (not always visible in image frame), and the fur (back of torso). Each ROI drawn above created 5 separate outcomes: mean, min, max, standard deviation (SD) and area of the region. Note: not all data were utilised in the published study. -999 are NA (not available) and should be left blank
