Contains several letters from John P. Boyd, Brig. Gen., to the Secretary of War, referring to the naval engagement on Lake Ontario near Niagara, which resulted in the loss of the American schooners Scourge and Hamilton during a storm, followed by the capture of the American ships Julia and Growler. The letters are dated August 8-15, 1813.
